Beyond Botox Training: Your Guide to Mentorship and Next Steps

Finishing a Botox and filler course is the start of building your skill, not the end of it. At Coastal Aesthetic Training Institute (CATI), graduates can contact our faculty with questions after the course, return for a Refresher Course, and move on to Advanced Master Courses when they’re ready. Here’s what that support looks like, and how to use your first months of injecting well.

What support CATI offers after the course

An open door for questions. When a case raises questions after you’re back in practice, you can reach us. Contact the registrar at registrar@coastalaesthetictraining.com or (860) 572-6868, and we’ll connect you with faculty.

A Refresher Course when you need one. Our Refresher Course is built for practicing injectors who want to tighten their technique:

  • Friday, 9 AM–5 PM: facial assessment, treatment planning, live model injections, and cannula and advanced placement for the mid-face and lower face.
  • Saturday, 9 AM–4 PM: one-on-one feedback while you continue injecting live models.

Advanced Master Courses when you’re ready to progress. Once your foundation is solid, the Advanced Master Courses cover lip anatomy and technique, facial balancing, and advanced neuromodulator treatment.

The same faculty who trained you. Dr. Beth Collins, MD, and Leah Bueneman, PA-C, teach across our courses. When you come back, you’re working with instructors who already know how CATI teaches. Read more about our instructors’ qualifications.

Why the first months after training matter

In the course, an instructor stands beside you. Back in your practice, you’re making decisions on your own, with patients whose anatomy, goals, and history don’t match a training scenario. That’s normal. It’s also why the habits you build early matter so much.

How to build skill safely in your first months

  1. Confirm your supervision and delegation arrangements before your first patient. Whether you need a supervising or delegating prescriber, and what that relationship requires, depends on your license and your state.
  2. Start with treatments you practiced under supervision, and build volume before adding new areas or techniques.
  3. Have a written complication protocol and an emergency kit on site, including hyaluronidase if you inject HA fillers. Our guide to Botox and filler patient safety covers what to prepare.
  4. Document everything: baseline photos, product and lot number, injection sites, units or volume, and technique.
  5. Review your own results. Follow-up visits show you what worked and what to adjust.
  6. Ask questions early. An unfamiliar case is a reason to contact faculty before you treat, not after.

When a Refresher Course makes sense

Consider the Refresher Course if you:

  • have been away from injecting for a while
  • are seeing results you’re not satisfied with, or aren’t sure why a treatment didn’t go as planned
  • want structured practice in mid-face and lower-face filler placement, or in neuromodulator dosing across different areas
  • trained elsewhere and want a second, anatomy-focused perspective

Frequently asked questions

Is support available if I trained with CATI a while ago?
Yes. Contact the registrar and we’ll connect you with faculty.

Do I have to take the Refresher Course before an Advanced Master Course?
Not necessarily. It depends on your experience. Call us and we’ll help you choose.

How much does the Refresher Course cost?
Multi-day courses are $3,500 with early registration (6 weeks before the course) and $4,000 regular. See pricing for current rates and 0% APR financing through Cherry, subject to approval.
